    JP225 chart questions

Why does the Nikkei often move opposite to the yen?
A weaker yen tends to boost exporters' profits, which supports the index. A stronger yen can weigh on it. The relationship is not constant.
    When is JP225 most active?
During Tokyo hours and after major US data or earnings. Much of the opening move reflects what happened in the US session.
    What does price-weighted mean?
Each stock counts in proportion to its share price, so a few high-priced stocks can influence the index more than their size suggests.
